Semester 2: Week 1

Welcome to the Spanish blog! Each week you will be able to see upcoming events and stay on top of work. Below are the lesson plans for Week 1.

7th grade:

1st day
LT: Get to know each other.
1. Intro to me
2. Choose names
3. Make nametags
4. Play Hip Hop with names
5. Rules/procedures
Student info sheet for homework

Tuesday
LT: Recognize important parts of book.
Identify people in the class.
1. Name game
2. Employability work
3. Guia de previsto (while I hand out workbooks).
4. Put binding on workbooks


Wednesday
LT: Use greetings at proper time of day
1. Review the guide for book
2. pg. 2 + presentation express with greetings
3. New vocab sheet
4. pg. 3 Act 1 (listening with greetings)
5. pg. 3 activity 3-create short conversation
HW: study for 10 minutes


Thursday
LT: Differentiate between tú v. Ud.
Recognize emotions
Recognize goodbyes

1. 2 minute review with partners
2. Stand up/sit down practice
3. Add vocabulary for emotions and goodbyes to vocab list
4. Read emotion page in book (pg. 4) + listen to presentation express
5. Do emotion actions
6. Reading tú v. Ud (pg. 5)
7. Complete pg. 2 in class
HW: pg. 1


Friday
LT: Use emotion words and greetings to create a conversation.
1. Question of day
2. Actions for emotions
3. LdP pg. 1 review
4. WAV pg. 1 listening
5. Create written conversation (say) collect
Quiz on greetings


8th grade:

Monday
Create conversation using 1A information
1. Intro to class
2. Rules (expectation sheet)
3. Pick names, make nametags
4. Create conversation: hello, name, how are you, something about class schedule, goodbye
5. Hand out workbook during partner work.
HW: student info sheet, parent sheet signed, bring old vocab list

Tuesday
Recognize and use information from previous semester
1. Hip hop with names
2. Stations:
-subject pronoun drill
-pictionary with –AR verbs
-personality trait puzzle
-question/answer match
-class vocab poke
-AR flip chart conjugations


Wednesday
Be familiar with breakfast and drink vocabulary
1. Greet 3 people (to learn names)
2. Review question and answer sheet from Wed.
3. Talk about favorite food and hours of eating (Cultural note-hours of meals)
4. P. 123 objectives
5. Pg. 124 listen to pronunciation, repeat
6. Add vocab to list
HW: create flashcards



Thursday
Recognize breakfast, lunch, and drink vocabulary
1. Review flashcards with a partner
2. Play matamoscas with words
3. Pg. 125-lunch words + frequency
4. Add words to vocab list
5. Use big pictures to ask ¿Qué te gusta más:?
6. Listening pg. 125 #1-Eat or drink?
7. Pg. 129 Beber-columns using frequency.

Friday
